5 Easy and Guaranteed Ways to Prevent Wrinkles (For Free)

There’s no harm in having wrinkles, but there’s also no harm in not having them. And you certainly don’t want to have those premature wrinkles caused by sun damage or no proper skin care, right? That’s why you need to take care of your skin and body to prevent wrinkles and get soft, glowing skin.

If you’d like to slow the signs of aging on your face, below are five easy and guaranteed ways to do so.

Wash Your Face Properly

Your skin regenerates itself every night and if it’s not properly clean, the chances are it will cause acne and age more quickly. Unclean skin also allows acne and dirt to sit in wrinkles and fine lines, thus leading to breakouts and premature aging.

So, make sure to spare a few minutes every night to properly wash your face. Use lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Cleansers with natural pH are recommended as your skin already has 5 pH and a mild cleanser will help maintain the balance. Likewise, use an oil-free cleanser for oily skin and a cream-based cleanser for dry skin. You can also use quality soap for daily use.

Don’t be rough on your skin when applying the cleanser or soap. Gently rub it and then rinse with lukewarm water. Avoid too hot water as it may cause irritation and strip your skin of needed oils. After your skin is all cleansed, use cold water to close pores and gently wipe with a soft cloth.

Protect Your Skin from Sun

So, it’s important to protect your skin from sun and ultraviolet (UV) rays and one of the best ways to achieve this is by wearing sunscreen and a sunhat. You might be thinking sunscreen does the job, but provided that your skin cells slowly renew after 21, it may not help alone. Our skin produces collagen, a protein that gives skin its fullness and elasticity, but as we age, collagen production slows down, causing wrinkles and premature aging.  That is why it’s best to combine sun hat and sunscreen to give your skin the ultimate barrier against UV rays. 

Moisturize

Moisturizer not only hydrates your skin but also nourishes and plumps it for a more youthful appearance. It helps quench the thirst of your skin which is important as you age and your skin becomes drier, making it more vulnerable to wrinkles. 

So, make sure to moisturize your skin every time you wash it and every night before sleeping. It’s recommended to use a moisturizer containing vitamin C as it keeps wrinkles from forming or getting deeper. You can also use olive oil, squalene oil, or jojoba oil to moisturize your skin- oils act as a great skin moisturizer.

Use a Micro Cloth

Microfiber cloths gently exfoliate your skin and clean the dirt, oil, and dead skin cells from your face, leaving it soft, smooth, and glowing. These clothes have millions of tiny hooks to grab onto wrinkles and pull them smooth without damaging your skin.

To enjoy the benefits of microfiber cloth for your skin, simply wet it with warm water, squeeze the excess water and exfoliate your skin with it by gently scrubbing in a circular motion. Finally, rinse your face with cool water and pat dry it. Do this once or twice a week to prevent dead skin cells and wrinkles.

You can also use a microfiber cloth to remove makeup and dry your face after washing it.

Eat Healthy

You are what you eat, and this is especially true when it comes to skin aging. A study shows that an unhealthy diet such as red meat and junk food can cause more facial wrinkles than a healthy diet that includes fruit and vegetables.

So, eat properly and make sure to have fruits and vegetables as a part of your diet as they aid skin renewal. Foods and drinks having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties might increase the elasticity of your skin and protect it from premature aging. Some of these include green tea, avocados, flax seeds, pomegranates, carrots, leafy greens, broccoli, and pumpkin. Likewise, drink healthy juices such as carrot juice, apple juice, and orange juice as they help detox your body and improve your skin’s elasticity.
